Stacy Silverman is the Founder and CEO of the Youth Development Training Collaborative LLC. The Collaborative is driven by passion and rooted in a belief that every hour counts for communities creating safe and nurturing environments for youth to become learners and leaders. The Collaborative aims to improve education nationally by actively working with organizations, educators, parents and students and providing them the tools, skills and competencies in order to thrive.
Silverman is an agent for social change with over 20 years of experience in the education and family and youth services. He has extensive experience working with the K-12 student population, primarily in out-of-school time settings, and has trained thousands of youth workers in the art of teaching and reaching youth. The Collaborative’s central focus is on Advancing Youth Development and fostering the 40 Developmental Assets in youth. These two frameworks used in tandem empower us to meet the needs of students regardless of their perceived limitations.
The Collaborative maintains a dynamic facilitation style. It incorporates research and best practice with interactive simulations to engage audiences in memorable learning exchanges. Silverman obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from The University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, and since has worked as a therapeutic wilderness instructor and course director for Outward Bound, as a Social Worker for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice programs, and as a Quality Advisor supporting Out-of-School Time programs across the country.
Silverman has been a Master Trainer for The David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality since 2003, and has participated in the development, research, capacity building, and coaching of communities to implement the Youth Program Quality Intervention, a national out-of-school time quality improvement effort under the direction of The Forum for Youth Investment. Stacy served a four year tour of duty as a Quality Advisor for Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc., an intermediary for afterschool programs implementing quality initiatives in Florida, as well as 6 years with KinderCare Education, LLC.
In addition to being the Executive Consultant for the Youth Development Training Collaborative, Silverman organizes sustainable humanitarian projects with partner youth serving organizations throughout the Caribbean.
